The 18th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL 2025) is set to bring another season of high-octane cricket, featuring the best players from around the world. Here’s everything you need to know about the upcoming season.

IPL 2025 Start Date and Format

  • Start Date: March 22, 2025
  • Final Match: May 25, 2025 (at Eden Gardens, Kolkata)
  • Total Matches: 74 (70 league matches + 4 playoffs)
  • Match Timings:
    • Afternoon Games: 3:30 PM IST
    • Evening Games: 7:30 PM IST
  • Format: Round-robin league, followed by playoffs

The IPL 2025 will follow a group stage and playoff format. The 10 teams are divided into two groups:

  • Group A:

    • Chennai Super Kings
    • Kolkata Knight Riders
    • Punjab Kings
    • Rajasthan Royals
    • Royal Challengers Bengaluru

  • Group B:

    • Delhi Capitals

Each team will play 14 league matches, facing teams in their group and select teams from the opposite group. The top four teams based on aggregate points will advance to the playoffs.
