The IPL 2025 season has started in grand style, and fans are in for a treat with the first action-packed double-header Sunday. The afternoon clash features Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) facing Rajasthan Royals (RR) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium in Hyderabad, followed by a high-voltage evening encounter between Chennai Super Kings (CSK) and Mumbai Indians (MI).

Squad Overview:

In Match 1, our fantasy team delivered some decent 414 points. We nailed our captain and vice-captain choices, but unfortunately missed out on picking Salt due to budget constraints. Despite that, our budget selections performed well, with both Rajat and Raghuvanshu contributing 30+ scores.

For Match 2, my fantasy team already includes four key players: Mohammed Shami, Ishan Kishan, Riyan Parag, and Sandeep Sharma. Given the potential for a high-scoring game, I have decided to make one transfer to strengthen the squad. If you’re feeling aggressive, you can make a couple of additional transfers, but I’m opting for just one, which will give me five players for this game. Our goal should be to consistently score 350-450 points per match.

Potential Picks Considered:

  • Abhishek Sharma (SRH): Explosive opener, part-time bowler, and a strong performer in IPL 2024 with 480+ runs.

  • Travis Head (SRH): In-form top-order batter who scored close to 600 runs last season.

  • Sanju Samson (RR): Holds the record for most runs against SRH.

  • Heinrich Klaasen (SRH): Hard-hitting finisher, scored nearly 500 runs in IPL 2024.

Initially, I considered not making any transfers, but given the potential for a run-fest, I didn’t want to miss out on crucial points. After much deliberation, I decided to bring in Travis Head—a game-changer capable of scoring quickly. Additionally, Sanju Samson's fitness is not 100%, making Head the safer pick. However, you can’t go wrong with any of these selections.

Transfer Decision:

  • Player Out: Virat Kohli (Credits: 10.5)

  • Player In: Travis Head (Credits: 10.5)

  • Credits Remaining: 0

  • Transfers Remaining (Before Change): 210

  • Transfers Remaining (After Change): 209

  • Total Points: 414.5

Virat Kohli was dropped as RCB’s next match is six games away, and we needed the credits to bring in Head.

Captain & Vice-Captain Strategy:

  • Captain: Travis Head – Backing a big player in a high-scoring game.

  • Vice-Captain: Mohammed Shami – A consistent wicket-taker, effective in powerplay and death overs and is in very good form.
